20 Years!
Chi Kung - Qi Gong Shibashi 20 years celebration. ( Early notice)
On the 24th September 2008 , Master Allan Kelson & the Tai chi & Chi kung Institute will be celebrating 20 years since the 1st introduction to South Australia of the 1st set of Qi Gong shi bashi.
Master Allan Kelson was the 1st person to teach this set to the public & one of the main pioneers of this set in Australia.
Photos of this 1st ever workshop / class.
Photos of the 1st workshop were included in Master Allan Kelson's book " Questions & Answers" printed in 2001 and appear on pages 40 & 41.
A few years later Allan pioneered the introduction of the 2nd set which is still quite rare in Australia.
Popular & basic.
This 1st set has now spread all around Australia & is popular with Qi Gong & Tai chi practioners.
Allan's observations of classes around Australia. Even though modifications have gradually crepted into some teachers classes the main system remains virtually intact.
Qi Gong ( Chi Kung) has many aspects, the main being that is is meant to be a system of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) exercises.
Due to the fact that most people who lead or teach Qi Gong, including Qigong Shibashi, have virtually no knowledge of, or official training in the theory of Acupoint & meridian theory, most of the "Traditional Secret Knowlege" and refined techneques can not be taught. With out advanced training from a Master Instructor the system is just a nice, simple & relaxing set.
NEW to Australia! 1st time ever.
NEW Qi Gong Skill from an ancient art!
ADVANCED Qi GONG (ShiBa Shi) - Get more Chi! from this set.
20 years celebration workshops.
Advanced Notice: Special Workshop with Master Allan Kelson.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the introduction of Qi Gong shibashi (1st set) by Master Allan kelson, Allan will be conducting a series of short workshops in advanced aspects & finer details of the set.
Also demonstrations by Master Allan kelson of the use of "Chi".
As the 20th Anniversary fall on Wednesday September 24th the workshops will be held around this date.
Venue : Adelaide 262 South Tce
Invitation to Participate: : open to all current & previous student over the last 20 years who have learned the set of QiGong Shibash (1st set) from Allan kelson & instructors of the Tai Chi & Chi Kung Institute (also known as the Tai Chi & Chi Kung (Qi Gong) Academy - still registered)

After a lot of consideration, which included observations of Allan Kelson's classes & training program, and the fact that at this time the Foundation took endorsing anyone or any product seriously and virtually never, the Arthritis Foundation of Australia - South Australia, took the unprecedented step and gave Allan Kelson the following "official" endorsement.
Quote from original documents.
"The Arthritis Foundation of Australia - South Australia recognise there can be many benefits of Tai Chi for people with Arthritis, when taught by instructors trained by Allan Kelson and the Tai Chi & Chi Kung Institute of Australia. It has therefore given (written) permission to the Institute to use the following in it's information brochure."
"Tai Chi, the gentle exercise art, as taught by the Tai Chi & Chi Kung Institute is recommended by the Arthritis Foundation of Australia - South Australia, as an acceptable type of exercise for some forms of Arthritis"
31/10/1988. .
All documentations are held.
Over the last 20 years Allan Kelson has publicaly been a strong advocate for the Arthritis Foundation.
